Here we are. Again. I recognize that tree.

This place is exhausting.

Energy expended by caring so much… too much. Enough energy generated to power a small city, but it doesn’t. It circulates inside of me until it fizzles out, frying nerves, and numbing emotions.

I’ve been here before. We’ve all been here before.

How many times does history need to repeat itself?

Humans in stark opposition screaming into dark tunnels leading nowhere.

Who is listening? Nobody. No-BODY.

The truth is, my opinion doesn’t supersede all other opinions, and neither does yours. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world, one person in a position of power with hurt feelings, or a hot temper could start a world war.

We are a collective of people, no two the same.

There are times to put down the megaphone and pick up a hearing aid, and vice versa.

Act on what’s right without pause; today, and every day.

Stand up for your convictions, while also keeping in mind that what you know and believe to your core has an opposing view in someone else’s heart, and mind. Let us never forget to be humble enough to at least ask ourselves, what if I’m wrong?

Sometimes there is no common ground, but instead, a demilitarized zone where anger, disgust, frustration, discontent, viciousness, disregard, rage, disbelief, heartache, and hopelessness occupy the space.

It’s no place to be. It’s the place that will kill your best self.

Hold on to your humanity.
